Well, when Aziraphale kept fixing Anathema's bike and adding things to it, he was motivated to do so because of his programming to do good. He made Crowley give her a ride in the Bently even though he came off as a creeper because he could not miss an opportunity to do good. He even said, and I quote, "'I couldn't miss an opportunity to do good...'"
Crowley (a.k.a. Crawly a.k.a. squiggly line) was programmed to do evil. He could not help but hold up all the telephone lines in Grand Central Station as an elaborate plan to get everyone to be mean and grumpy. He also turned the paintball guns into real guns because of the players' inner desire to have real guns and so caused a bunch of deaths to business men, which really doesn't seem that bad at all when you think of it. He was programmed to do bad, so he really couldn't help it.
Adam was motivated to save the world because he wanted to have the Johnsonites around. Crowley was destined to mess everything up because he liked the 21st century Iand his Bentley).
Isn't Bentley a salad?
